Weekly Catch Up
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Ours was filled with the most beautiful weather! I honestly cannot remember a time when Central Illinois had this type of weather in November and I’m certainly not complaining. We took full advantage of days full of sunshine and the 70s by visiting outdoors with family and friends. On Saturday two of my closest friends came over and we were able to visit on the porch for a few hours and later that day Brent’s friend also came by to hang out in the backyard. On Sunday my parents stopped by to play with Millie on her playground, which was so nice because my dad has been busy with harvest season on the farm, so we haven’t seen him much lately. Later Sunday evening I went for a walk with some friends and let me tell you, all of the girl time was good for my soul!
Last week we had our family photoshoot. I’ve been trying to get professional photos taken every 6 months during Millie’s first few years. If I’m being completely honest, this is the first time I’ve ever been disappointed in professional photos. I felt like not a lot of time, effort, or love was put into making the photos or the edits special. My mom said the same exact thing after I shared the photos with her. This was a real bummer because as everyone knows, between picking out outfits, convincing your hubby that the photos are necessary (and him taking off work) and getting a toddler to behave for photos is no easy task. But oh well, life will go on!
On a more positive note, I had a zoom visit with some of my Instagram and blogger friends last week and it was so much fun! I feel so lucky to have met such wonderful ladies on the internet (of all places) and blessed to call them friends. We had a great night chatting not only about blogs and RewardStyle, but also life in general.

What we’re Watching, Reading & Baking
Watching: I’m late to the game, but I finally finished watching Emily in Paris last week. It’s a pretty typical chick flick Netflix series and I’ve heard it referred to as a modern Sex and the City. Although I would say it’s not nearly as good as Sex and the City, it was entertaining enough that I would recommend it to women looking for some mindless TV.
Reading: I’ve been browsing Kristen Cavallari’s newest cookbook, True Roots, for about a month now. I haven’t yet made any recipes, but they all look delicious. If you’ve tried some with good results please comment and let me know so I can get started cooking!
Baking: Last week I made brownies using the Simple Mills Brownie Almond Flour Mix. The good news: They were pretty delicious, especially for being GF, DF, and using coconut sugar instead of white sugar. The bad news: Brent is allergic to nuts, so I ate almost the entire pan myself (or maybe this was also good news, depending how you look at it!)
Weekly Shopping Finds
Vineyard Vines 30% Off: Vineyard Vines currently has 30% off almost everything on their website! This almost never happens and it’s a great time to take advantage for some holiday gifting. For men I love the sweater fleece 1/4 zip, the sweater fleece vest, and the Sankaty performance polos. For women I love the funnel neck cozy fleece top, the garment-dyed funnel-neck shep shirt, and a Vineyard Vines baseball hat is always a perfect gift!
Madewell 30% Off: I love the classic and high-quality styles that Madewell offers. They are especially well known for their jeans and I have been eyeing this pair of high-rise skinny jeans with button-front details. Some of my favorite sweaters have come from Madewell and I love the color of this pointelle mock neck sweater.
Boden Fair Isle Sweaters: If there’s one classic piece of clothing that screams winter it’s a Fair Isle sweater. I am in LOVE with this Mini Boden Fair Isle rainbow pink cardigan for babies and toddlers and there is also a matching bonnet and boots! I am also equally in love with this Fair Isle sweater for girls 2-6 years old. And of course Boden has beautiful options for women including this pink, green, and grey Fair Isle sweater. Oh, and we can’t forget about the boys and men in our lives…Fair Isle for the whole fam!
Weekly Question
Friday I forced myself to clean our bathrooms. This is my absolute least favorite chore of all time, but I knew I’d feel better going into the weekend once I got it over with. I posed the question on my Instagram stories asking friends what their least favorite chore is and I was surprised by the responses! I’m curious to get more opinions, so drop a comment below letting me know what your least favorite chore is!
